Job Description

The  Finance Manufacturing Excellence Manager leads the Finance Manufacturing Excellence Team which plays a critical overarching role in the entire efficiency improvement, change management and emergency back-up processes of Finance Manufacturing in Europe

which consists of 15 factories and managing a manufacturing costs of around € 500mm manufacturing cost.

The role manages a variety of controlling activities in order to manage the function’s financial resources and to ensure that the function complies with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirements.

This role reports into Finance Director Manufacturing Europe and has a team of direct reports (Finance Excellence Specialists and Trainees). The peers are the Finance Managers for EU Manufacturing.

The key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Lead the Finance Manufacturing Excellence Team: Set up the team, recruit talent, and define vision, structure and roadmap for the future.
  • Drive business partnering: Shift routine tasks from Plant Controllers to the Excellence Team to enhance strategic focus. Provide support with meaningful financial analyses and back-up support for the plants or projects.
  • Standardize and automate financial processes: Ensure timely and accurate monthly closings and reporting.
  • Align plant financial practices: Identify and close gaps across European factories to harmonize & centralize closing activities.
  • Implement finance technologies & processes: Oversee adoption of tools like Alteryx, AICO, SAP BO, and Power BI. Manage the implementation of new processes in order to respond to the dynamics of organizational requirements
  • Develop team capabilities: Provide leadership, tools, and guidance to grow financial expertise and performance.

For this role as a Finance Manufacturing Excellence Manager, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • 5-10 years finance leadership experience, preferably in FMCG.
  • Finance knowledge on Operations and Manufacturing.
  • Affinity with automation and visualization tools such as Alteryx and Power BI.
  • Continuous improvement mindset (e.g. Kaizen, PDCA, 5S, 4M5W).
  • Knowledge of SAP R3 and SAP BPC / PRO as well as plant controlling procedures.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience of working in a cross-boundary/multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to translate strategic plans into actions, to manage the projects in the most efficient way and to continuously improve existing processes.
  • People management and coaching skills.
