Field Sales Manager - North Island

Sales Auckland Full-time New Zealand

Job Description

We are looking for 2 Field Sales Managers, one each for the North and South Islands (YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE BASED IN AUCKLAND FOR THIS ROLE, WE ARE OPEN TO APPLICATIONS FROM ANYONE ACROSS THE NORTH ISLAND). These roles will lead, coach and support the Field Team in your Island to drive sales growth, implement best practices, and build strong sales fundamentals. This hybrid role combines managing key stores with training and upskilling Field Sales Assistants, ensuring business objectives are delivered while developing the team.

What does that mean?

In this role, you will:

  • Drive distribution, range and shelf management by guiding the Field Team on store reviews and best practice presentations. Implement shelf strategies to improve space, placement and category management. Support the team with Dunnhumby/Power BI training to ensure data-led objectives for every store visit.
  • Lead merchandiser training and onboarding by creating universal guidance documents and timelines, ensuring H&S compliance and team readiness. Manage DAS NW builds with third-party partners, design and communicate planograms, and drive the review and rollout of a fit-for-purpose CRM tool in partnership with regional teams.
  • Manage the NI/SI Field Team through coaching, mentoring and data-driven insights. Identify training opportunities, coordinate relay support across Foodstuffs and Woolworths, and drive quarterly priorities and incentives to deliver results, including focus for Four Square accounts.
  • Support Account Managers and Shopper teams with key activations and promotions to maximise execution and results. Lead planning during peak activation periods, manage the monthly NI/SI promotions calendar, and provide insights by tracking and testing sell-out data across locations.
  • Monitor monthly through profitability reports on our activities, which will allow us to make the necessary changes in Routes-Clients in order to achieve greater payback.
  • Design, monitor and coordinate systems to capture both quantitative data (sell-out, photos, shelf space, competitor activity) and qualitative insights (consumer surveys). Work closely with Trade and Marketing teams to analyse results and create improvement actions.
