To start with, the position of Global Master Data Manager sits comfortably in the Global Master Data Management team, part of Group Control. An incredibly diverse team that helps each other learn, grow, and develop—just how we like it!
As a Global Master Data Manager, you will be asked to define and govern the global master data strategy and ensure operational excellence in master data services across all regions and business units. For this, we don’t just need you to be a knowledgeable professional but also strongly rely on your leadership, influencing skills, and ability to collaborate across functions. Know that you’ll have a crucial role in creating and protecting the impact we look for in our value chain.
With this said, we’d like you to take responsibility over the following tasks:
Define and enforce global master data policies, standards, and procedures.
Establish a governance framework to ensure accountability and quality of master data across the organization.
Oversee creation, maintenance, and harmonization of master data (customers, vendors, materials, equipment, finance).
Monitor data quality KPIs and initiate corrective actions to maintain accuracy and completeness.
Partner with IT, Finance, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure integration of MDM systems with ERP and enterprise platforms.
Lead and develop a global master data team, coaching and empowering them to deliver high-quality results.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on data governance and strategy.
We are looking for a proactive and inspiring leader with a drive for excellence. Someone who holds themselves accountable, thrives in a fast-paced global environment, and doesn’t shy away from responsibility. Given the nature of the role, we feel it’s important for you to have significant experience in master data management and governance as well as proven expertise in leading global or cross-functional teams.
We thrive in diverse teams and look for people who value inclusivity and collaboration as much as we do. We can give you a list of “must haves,” however that’s not how we view your candidacy. We do, of course, take into consideration how much experience you have with ERP/MDM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data governance frameworks, but ultimately, we look at the bigger picture.
But to give you a bit of guidance as to what we feel is needed in this role, we’ll share our “nice to have” list with you:
Experience developing and implementing global data governance strategies and policies.
Strong background collaborating with IT, Finance, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams in a multinational environment.
Application/automation knowledge (SAP, Winshuttle, ServiceNow) and strong MS Office skills.
A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Management, Finance, Supply Chain, or equivalent working experience.
A proven track record of driving operational excellence and continuous improvement in complex, matrixed organizations.
