To start with, the position of Global Buyer Raw Materials sits comfortably in the Global Procurement team—an incredibly diverse team that helps each other learn, grow and develop. Just how we like it!
As a Global Buyer Raw Materials, you will be asked to own and drive global category sourcing strategies for key raw materials (including sugar, cacao, flavors, dairy and non-dairy creamers, and other ingredients with a total spend of approx. €100M). You will also be responsible for navigating commodity market volatility, building global stakeholder relationships, and driving supplier performance and innovation.
For this, we don’t just need you to be a knowledgeable professional, but also strongly rely on your interpersonal skills as well as your drive for success. Know that you’ll have a crucial role in creating and protecting the impact we look for in our value chain.
With this said, we’d like you to take responsibility over the following tasks:
Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for designated raw material categories that deliver best-in-class results.
Build effective supplier partnerships and collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, and country business units to maximize value and ensure continuous improvement.
Monitor and assess raw material market dynamics to identify risks and protect the business from price volatility.
Lead innovation programs to identify cost savings, new technologies, new ingredients and new suppliers aligned with business strategy.
Manage raw material and product selection processes, including negotiation and supplier contracting.
We are looking for an action-oriented procurement expert with a drive for excellence—someone who holds themselves accountable and doesn’t shy away from responsibility. Given the nature of the role, it’s important for you to bring relevant experience and a solid understanding of procurement’s value to the business.
We thrive in diverse teams and look for people who appreciate that as much as we do. We can give you a list of “must haves,” but ultimately, we look at the bigger picture.
To give you guidance on what we feel is important for this role, here is our “nice to have” list:
Strong understanding of physical manufacturing processes and how procurement decisions impact production.
Analytical thinking and strong attention to detail—cost elements can be challenged all the way to the top.
Ability to work at pace and make quick, informed decisions.
Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
Excellent teamwork mindset—lone wolves won’t go as far.
Hands-on, action-oriented working style.
Strong cross-functional and international collaboration skills.
Solid procurement process knowledge and ability to act as a role model within the procurement organization.
5+ years of experience in Raw Materials procurement.
Ability to travel 20–30% of the time.
