Job Description

To start with, the position of Global Technology Director Security (CISO) sits comfortably in the Global IT organisation. This is an incredibly diverse and high-performing team that supports each other to learn, grow, and develop — just the way we like it.

As the Global Technology Director Security, you will shape and execute JDE Peet’s global security vision and strategy for both IT and OT. You will ensure our information assets, systems, and technologies are robustly protected, while enabling business growth and innovation. For this, we need not only deep cybersecurity expertise but also strong leadership, executive communication skills, and the ability to navigate strategic trade-offs.

You will play a crucial role in embedding a security-conscious culture in everything we do and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT/OT operations that meet regulatory, organisational, and commercial requirements.

With this said, we’d like you to take responsibility for the following tasks:

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and implement JDE Peet’s global IT/OT security strategy aligned with business objectives,
  • Lead and inspire a global security organisation, building a collaborative, high-performance culture,
  • Act as the primary advisor on cybersecurity and compliance (including NIS2) to the Global IT Director, CELT, and audit committee,
  • Oversee the enterprise-wide information security and risk management programme,
  • Stay ahead of emerging threats and evaluate new security technologies.

Data Security

  • Manage security awareness and training programmes for employees, contractors, and system users
  • Ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations

Risk Management

  • Manage JDE Peet’s cyber-risk posture, including mandatory controls and third-party/supply chain security,
  • Collaborate with business units and global functions on IT/OT risk assessment and mitigation,
  • Report regularly to senior leaders and the board on information security risks and programme status,
  • Conduct strategic risk reviews for IT/OT initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture,
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies to minimise audit findings.

IT & OT Security Operations

  • Ensure day-to-day IT/OT operations meet global regulatory, organisational and commercial requirements,
  • Oversee business continuity and disaster recovery,
  • Manage the global IT/OT security budget and monitor financial performance,
  • Manage outsourcing contracts for security detection, response, and protection services.

Compliance

  • Oversee the IT Compliance team and ensure compliance with global standards and frameworks
  • Lead security and risk management projects across IT/OT and business units,
  • Ensure execution of internal controls aligned with evolving international laws, standards, and regulations.

Qualifications

We are looking for a strategic, influential, and highly skilled security leader with a strong drive for excellence. Someone who takes accountability, thrives in complexity, and combines technical expertise with strong business acumen.

We value diverse experiences and perspectives. While we don’t view hiring as a checklist exercise, your background in the following areas will help you succeed.

Must-have experience

• 10+ years of experience in IT security and/or risk management, including 3+ years in a CISO or equivalent leadership role
• Proven track record in developing and executing enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategies
