Project Manager 50-50-100 Program

Procurement Utrecht Full-time Netherlands

Job Description

In today’s dynamic business environment, the role of procurement extends far beyond simply
sourcing goods and services. One of the most critical challenges faced by organisations is the
management of “unmanaged spend”—expenditures that occur outside established procurement
processes and controls. Effectively managing this spend is essential for maintaining financial
discipline, ensuring compliance, and unlocking potential cost savings.

Unmanaged spend can lead to fragmented supplier relationships, missed opportunities for
negotiation, and a lack of visibility over where organisational resources are allocated. Without proper
oversight, businesses risk increased costs, reduced efficiency, and potential exposure to compliance
or reputational risks. By proactively addressing unmanaged spend, procurement teams can drive
greater value, strengthen internal controls, and support the organisation’s strategic objectives.

We are launching the 50-50-100 Programme that aims to manage currently unmanaged indirect
spend and deliver at least 50M savings. The Project Manager 50-50-100 is a temporary role
(approximately 12 - 18 months, starting January 2026) that will report directly to the Global Procurement Director and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the 50-50-100
Programme.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end management of projects under the 50-50-100 Programme, from initiation through to delivery and review.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, milestones, and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate and motivate project teams, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration across all stakeholders.
  • Track progress against key performance indicators and programme objectives, reporting regularly to senior leadership.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating where necessary.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and adherence to financial controls.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure compliance with organisational policies and standards.
  • Facilitate regular meetings, workshops, and presentations to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, capturing lessons learned and sharing best practice across the organization.
