Job Description
As Accounting & Tax Manager Northern Europe, you play a key leadership role in shaping a modern, high-performing finance function across the region (Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden & Finland). You will be key member of the Northern Europe Finance Leadership team and have report to Finance Director Northern Europe.
You are responsible for ensuring full compliance and financial integrity, while also driving standardization, efficiency and continuous improvement in accounting and tax processes. Acting at the intersection of local markets, global teams and external stakeholders, you will have a direct impact on how finance operates across Northern Europe.
You will lead the transition towards a cluster-based operating model, building and managing one integrated multi-country team and ensuring it delivers consistent, high-quality outcomes across all markets.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure accurate, compliant and timely financial reporting across all Northern Europe markets
- Lead closing processes and safeguard a strong control environment
- Own end-to-end tax compliance and proactively manage regulatory developments
- Build strong relationships with auditors, tax authorities and advisors
- Oversee accounting operations across GL, AP and AR, including shared service models
- Act as key partner between local finance teams, GBS, GTC and Group Control
- Lead Accounts Receivable activities at cluster level, with an AR Manager Northern Europe (currently vacant) reporting into you
- Drive standardization, automation and efficiency improvements across markets
- Build and develop one integrated multi-country Northern Europe accounting & tax team
- Drive engagement, performance and capability building across the team
- Provide strategic guidance and insights to senior finance leadership
Qualifications
You are a strong finance leader who combines deep technical expertise with ownership, leadership and a collaborative mindset.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Strong experience in Accounting, Tax and Financial Reporting within an international environment
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, USGAAP and local GAAP
- Experience with shared services / outsourcing models

- Leader on both content and people, building high-performing multi-country teams
- Strong ownership mindset, making strategy work in practice
- Driver of efficiency and standardization across finance processes
- Team player, working closely with Finance Director, FP&A, Country Finance Managers and key stakeholders within the Northern Europe Cluster
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
