Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

Job Description

Responsible for being the key Finance Business Partner to the Sales and Marketing teams.  Ensure robust understanding, recording and analysis of all Trade Spend/Gross to Net (GtN), ensuring all month-end activities in this regard are in accordance with JDE policies.  Lead the financial planning and analysis process – including monthly management reviews, quarterly business reviews and Annual Operating Plan.

Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Business partnering to sales teams and senior management by preparing monthly Customer P&Ls and analysing the actual results regarding trade deals, making GTN budgets for each customer and rolling forescast & SOP, building a system to get control over trade spend in channels, control of distributors’ actual spend at each month end.
  • Partner the sales team in decision making on Promotions by building / maintaining the ROI tools to ensure net positive trade promotions.  Observe and correct any deviations from KPI’s.
  • Business partnering to marketing teams and leadership on NPD and Innovation projects and post-launch analyses.
  • Full accountability for the JDE ZA trade spend entries in SAP.
  • Responsibility of GTN accrual calculations, preparation of all related recons and financial statements/reports.
  • Responsible for general ledger accounts for trade spent to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for month end volume, sales, closing activities for GTN.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis – leading the financial process for month-end close, the quarterly QBR’s and Annual Operating Plan.
    • Understanding the drivers and changes in the IBR’s, Forex, Conversion costs and other Cogs inputs and how these impact the PnL.
    • Collaboratıng with Revenue Manager on pricing and trade discount impacts and giving value-added analysis and recommendations to Leadership Team on pricing decisions.
    • Financial inputs into the QBR/MMR/AOP decks and partnering with other functions to complete the full deck.
    • Adherence to all submission deadlines in respect of Finex and BPC.
  • Responsible for the quarterly Aico control and submissions and relevant GRC’s.
  • Responsible for the internal & external audit  in relation to all Trade Spend transactions/processes.
  • Assistance with other add-hoc projects and reporting.
  • Work closely with Accounts Receivables (AR) to ensure that customer deductions and claims have been sufficiently and accurately accrued for.
  • To ensure that TAS (JDE trade spend accrual system) accruals are reconciled monthly.
  • Ensure that as far as possible all TAS accruals are processed against AR.

Qualifications

Knowledge : Experience & Qualifications

  • CA (SA) or CIMA qualification
  • 4-6 Years Experience in Finance
  • Multinational experience (preferred)
  • Controlling & Business Partnering experience (required)
  • Degree in Bcomm; BBusSci
  • Perfect command of English
  • Perfect command of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Perfect command of SAP
